what you wish you said.
I released an anonymous form on all my social media, shared it with peers, friends, family, and anyone who would give me the time of day. i asked those people to share this form as well.
the question: "think of your first love. a source of inspiration. a person who showed you the harsh realities of the world. what does this person mean to you? did this person make you feel happy? safe? content? or did they shove you into the depths of your own head? think of a time in your life you wish you could go back to and change, or a time you wish to hold onto forever. were you perfectly in love or in perfect misery? in the space below, tell us something you wish you said to this person who impacted you so greatly," in the end received over 100 submissions of what people "wish [they] said..."
with the help of my peers, we selected the most common/repeated phrases, and created this short film.
Lilliana’s Army
life is precious. impossible to predict and at times difficult to bear. when my goddaughter lilliana was diagnosed with a choroid plexus carcinoma— aggressive brain cancer—the digital sphere allowed my family a space of solace. we connected with the world around us despite the maze walls at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Sharing her story online, we united with families who had experienced similar hardships, as well as individuals who followed our smiley girl’s difficult journey and eventual recovery. this video was one of many.
covid 19 quarantine.
while i was a junior, my senior peers lost their celebratory commencement to the global pandemic. i wanted to honor their time, dedication, and our appreciation with his short video. it is far from perfect, but my young memories and moments are captured here.
